The Chair

The Institutional Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage is an initiative of CRUSOE in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia and NTT Data, responsible for the coordination of the different actions and activities of the CRUSOE working group in the area of Heritage. Likewise, the Chair is the first example of institutional collaboration in its field with the degree of ambition, representativeness and scope that its three members confer on it.

The Institutional Chair is established under the premise of the essential collaboration of the Academy, the Public Administrations and the private sector in the face of the current and future challenges and opportunities for Cultural Heritage from the perspective of the digital transition.

The Institutional Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage focuses on the heritage and cultural heritage of the SOE Euroregion, a worldwide reference with several cities and places recognized as World Heritage Sites by Unesco. To this must be added the wealth of museums, archives and libraries, whose collections and assets, with their own casuistry in terms of the aforementioned transition, treasure an important potential for generating resources linked to the new models of the digital economy. Consequently, a source of new highly qualified jobs, linked to the territory and global reach.

Our philosophy

Vision

The Chair is a space for analysis, critical debate and the formulation of proposals for actions and activities in its own field, being an open meeting point for all actors involved in Digital Cultural Heritage.

Mission

The mission of the Institutional Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage is to coordinate the different actions of the participating Institutions in the field, with special attention to Research and Development, the training of talent and the promotion of initiatives for the digitization, preservation, dissemination and enhancement of the Heritage of the Euroregion.

Objectives

The creation of the necessary tools and services to address the digital transition of the Euroregion’s heritage, enabling the establishment of a solid economy through monitoring instruments, training (postgraduate and occupational), collaborative R&D and industrialization 5.0 (entrepreneurship, cooperativism and financial industry).
