The Conference of Rectors of Universities and Polytechnic Institutes of South-Western Europe (CRUSOE) met with the Xunta de Galicia and the Japanese multinational NTT Data to discuss the creation of a new ICT Laboratory in Galicia, through the Institutional Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage.
The event, which took place last Friday at the Rectorate of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), was attended by the executive president and general secretary of CRUSOE, Salustiano Mato; the rector of the University of A Coruña, Ricardo Cao; the rector of the USC, Antonio López; the scientific director of the Institutional Chair of Digital Cultural Heritage, Juan Castro; the Regional Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training, Román Rodríguez; the director of the Galician Innovation Agency, Carmen Cotelo; and Alberto Borrego, Pablo Manzano, Kenichi Kawashima, Tomoe Nakano and Ayaka Goto, from NTT Data.
This ICT Laboratory is proposed as an initiative of technological and digital innovation in Galicia, designed for the tourism sector through a public-private partnership between the Xunta and other entities. This would facilitate access to state-of-the-art technologies for the digitization of projects in different areas, such as cultural preservation.
